al-Tafsir al-Muyassar is one of the contemporary books of tafsir written to fit in the margins of the Madinah Mushaf. It was written by a group of scholars under the direction of Sheikh Saalih Aal al-Sheikh, Minister of Islamic Affairs for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The book aims to provide a brief explanation or gloss of the ayah or ayaat at hand according to the understanding of the salaf. For more information about this work, see here.
Beginning in December 2019, we translated and published monthly installments of surah al-Baqarah, which we completed in July 2022, alhamdulillaah. Following the groupings used by Sheikh Faisal Aal Mubarak in his book of tafsir, we divided the surah into 34 sections. These sections are typically ten ayaat or less and center around a shared meaning.
Beginning in July 2022, we translated and published weekly installments of Juz’ ‘Amma’ (surah al-Naba’ to surah al-Nas), which we completed in March 2023, alhamdulillaah.
Beginning in June 2023, we have begun monthly installments of Juz’ Tabarak (surah al-Mulk to surah al-Mursalat), which should be completed in April 2024, inshaAllaah.
Beginning in May 2024, we plan to begin monthly installments of surah Aal ‘Imran, which should be completed in August 2025, inshaAllaah. These installments are divided according to the groupings of sheikh Faisal Aal Mubarak.
