بسم الله ، والحمد لله ، والصلاة والسلام على المصطفى
My name is Khalil Phillip Klopfenstein and I am the translator and administrator for the Tulayhah.wordpress.com website. I converted to Islam from a Christian background in 2009, at age 19. In the ensuing years, I have taken the opportunities available in the different cities and communities where I have lived to attend the classes and halaqaat offered, to improve my Arabic skills, to build beneficial connections with those who have more knowledge, and to acquire a small collection of beneficial books by or recommended by our Salafi shuyookh. In 2014 I was blessed to be able to attend the 11th ‘Ali ibn Abi Taalib Dawrah in Kuwait (October 23-30, 2014) with Sheikh Sulayman al-Ruhaylee and Sheikh Saalih al-Suhaymee. In May 2017 I completed a master’s degree in Teaching English as a Second Language and am currently teaching in that field at a university in my home state of Missouri, USA. In my current location where we do not have direct contact with the scholars, I am taking the means available to seek knowledge through the classes, books, audios and other resources available and referring questions back to some of those whom I know who have studied or are currently studying in Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Kuwait or Egypt, especially benefiting from my in-laws, who manage Taalib.com. My efforts on Tulayhah are that of translation, with an emphasis on the books of tafsir recommended by our Salafi scholars.
To the extent of my ability, I make an effort to accurately translate the materials that I publish on the Tulayhah website, however I am a human being and thus not free of mistakes. For this reason, I consistently provide the original Arabic text along with the English translation for the purposes of reference, checking and inshaAllaah for the benefit of those learning Arabic. If any mistakes are found, please email email@example.com.
Alhamdulillaah, Allah has also blessed me with a wife, Sukhailah Bint-Khalil, who assists me in my translations and accurately understanding the texts, may Allah reward her. Sukhailah spent ten of her formative years in various centers of knowledge in Yemen, including three years in Damaaj where she regularly attended the classes of Umm Salamah, Umm ‘Abdullah al-Waadi’iyyah, and Umm ‘Abdullah al-Indoneesiyyah, among others. She and her family also studied in the Dar al-Hadeeth centers in Sana’a, Ma’bar, and Shihr during their time in Yemen. Upon returning to the United States, Sukhailah enrolled in an online summer program offered by “Knowledge International University” [جامعة المعرفة العالمية]*. She completed the course with high scores and was awarded a full scholarship to pursue a four-year Bachelors degree from their College of Sharee’ah, which she completed in 2016 by the grace of Allah. Sukhailah is currently pursuing ijaazah in Qur’anic recitation.
